Few days back i wrote about the plight of pakistanis in the present chaotic times for their country and the effect it might be having on the average god fearing, educated citizens. Read two days back that most of the schools are getting closed in the wake of incessant blasts and people are now scared of going out of their homes. Its not out of turn, as i strongly believe that entire pakistan is not made of rogue elements.

second thought
i had written... how does it matter if nobody reads my blog.....but on second thoughts , actually i would like people to read the same. Idea is to connect with like minded people and start a dialogue process. Its a healthy creative process and the churning of thoughts will have some learning for me.

I saw rajeev masand's programme yday late night for the upcoming movie "aladin"...... and what amazed me was the way amitabh conducted himself in the company of youngsters with an average age of 25. The guy simply rocks at 67....what attitude and what learning for all of us in our early 40's. The zeal and enthusiasm which he apparently brings on screen and otherwise also.... is a sure shot stuff of great inspiration. Actually its all in the mind.... age is a misnomer sometime. And as i said... a great learning of not getting bogged down by the advancing age.
way to go amitabh bachhan.....
I actually feel very sad for the average, middle class, educated, forward thinking, moderate, pakistani. Or there is nothing of that sort left in Pakistan. I mean how long they can with stand this kind of incessant attacks with fatal results. The perennial threat to their lifes and livelihood must be a taking a toll on the psyche. A stable and peaceful and progressive Pakistan is good for entire south east asia and the saner voices of the world must congregate and help them in taking care of the mess. It might be wishful thinking but thats the way i look at it.
sunday after diwali
Its quite amazing to see the amount of money people spend on bursting crackers.....i mean talk of recession...going slow.... loses all focus when i see the sheer arrogance in this act. Yesterday night while driving down alkapuri road....the sheer vengeance with which shop keepers were bursting crackers was a site to behold. It means many things to many people. I gather people need this kind of outlet once in a while to drive the gloom away, or they are actually doing roaring business...so why to worry. And my thoughts also goes to the other India where kids are dying of hunger...what a chasm.... it can only happen in India.
And what about environmental damage it causes...... will there be ever any check and balance in this historic practice. I know for sure that i will earn the ire of my son and his friends....but cumulatively we will have to give a serious thought in this regard
At last i get down to pen my take on the stuff i see..read every day. Will anybody bother to read it, actually how does it matter. Its basically to satisfy my urge of saying something ....period. I do read and see whole lot of things every day and one conjures up thoughts in that context....and perhaps it will give me an opportunity to give vent to those thoughts.
yesterday one came across a great thought by sri sri ravi shankar in TOI column of The Speaking Tree. Few lines made lot of sense....for an oil lamp to burn, the wick has to be in the oil, yet out of the oil. If the wick is drowned in the oil, it cannot bring light. Life is like the wick of the lamp; you have to be in the world yet remain untouched by it.
